Good evening everyone, owns a tongfang gm7mg0r aka Elimina Pro 17.3". I was one of the first users to receive it and now I find myself with the oldest bios 1.07 instead of the updated version 1.09. None of the tech support was able to give me an explanation or provide me with the new bios. Is there anyone among the owners who could provide me the new bios?

So if more updates will arrive in the next few months to improve the system stability, should i stay like an idiot with the old one until i convince them to provide it to me the new one?

No, you should act like a sensible person - call PCS and ask their advice.

Why do you need the new BIOS - what is there on the latest BIOS that is missing from your current BIOS?

Are you experiencing some issues that you believe that the new BIOS will resolve?

Where have you seen that the Elimina Pro BIOS is now at version 1.09? - Make a note of the source of this information to provide to the caller when you ring?

@ChrisCasty sent us a few screenshot coming from his Elimina Pro. No issue at all, I just want that all users always have the possibility to receive directly from PC Specialist all the updates that are provided by tongfang, Is that wrong? We also had the laptop before the drivers where uploaded.

Kinda, yes.

The BIOS (and most drivers for that matter) do not necessarily always need to be kept bang up to date. The litmus tests are a) are you having problems and b) is there something in the new BIOS (or driver) that you actually need? If the answer to both of those is no, then you have no use for the newer BIOS and you're much safer running the older BIOS that you know has no bugs in it.

Only you know whether you're having problems and PCS will know whether there is anything in the latest BIOS update that your specific build needs. That's why we always recommend asking PCS's advice.

Where BIOS and drivers are concerned, the older it is the more stable it is - and if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

I'm the owner of the Elimina Pro with the updated BIOS (1.09) and looks like, with this version, MUX switch is working (and even the dGPU only mode flag appeared in the Control Center!)

So, im pretty sure that would be worth upgrading, as Looka said

I was only asking as was going to post a very similar post to @ubuysa has done in that 'if it aint broke then dont fix it'. Introducing a new BIOS just because its the latest could introduce an issue, but obviously if it has a feature not included on the one you have and you want it, then yes speak with PCS about it. Similarly, if you are experiencing problems and a new one is available, then ask.
