Elton John: Me

I have just finished reading Elton John’s Autobiography and I would highly recommend it. I won’t post spoilers because it’s a journey just reliving these stories with him. It’s less than a fiver for the paperback and if you’ve ever been through an addiction you can ensure that Sir Elton did it first and he did it with fireworks attached to his body whilst wearing glasses heavy enough to cause back problems.

Really worth listening to some of the early albums as some are very autobiographical, I used to have a complete set of vinyl up to the first break up with Bernie Taupin

I love Elton. He's so good at interviews because he's so open and he's had some significant hurdles to overcome aside from stardom.

Very true, @SpyderTracks. I think a lot of people just see Elton as a caricature:

But that’s just not the case, and as @Martinr36 said, he’s chronicled things his own way, even in those periods without Bernie T.

I would still recommend watching those YouTube clips 😁

for anyone looking for a relaxing tune, this elton john remix is pretty good

rocketman is a pretty good film, taron egerton played elton well

I don't know much about his work with Bernie Taupman, but Rocketman the song is not a pop song, more a progressive concept rock, for me it greatly equals some of the Ziggy tracks. Those are the songs I want to get to know better.

Personally, I think some of his earlier music is some of his best, his first album "empty sky" is superb
