My PC got a virus and I had to reinstall windows. Everything seems fine now except my ethernet card is not working. It has a yellow exclamation mark next to it in Device manager and reinstalling doesn't help. I have checked in BIOS and the port is enabled. I'm not sure what else to do. I miss the internet!

ok obv your on the internet using another computer, you need to download the drivers for your card and put them on your pc, either using cd or usb.. wont be very big so usb is fine!!

do you know the make of your card??

Also if the network card is integrated with your motherboard then the motherboard driver disc that came with the pc will have it.

In your PC Specialist Welcome Pack will be a bunch of CDs, one being the ASUS Motherboard Driver CD. Insert this and it will auto run, just click the "ASUS Install All" option and it will automatically scan your PC and install the necessary drivers for you.

Please update us with how you get on.

But dont forget to untick the free antivirus (normally Norton) so make sure you do a custom installation of it :)

one handy little tip, if that fails, go to device manager and uninstall the driver manually, tick the little box that says 'delete driver software' then ok it, reboot, THEN install the new one, it can get rid of corrupt drivers that linger like a bad smell.

Steve - Etherent card is aRealtek RTL8169/8111 Family PCI GBE NIC (6.0) I have downloaded some drivers for it and installed them but the card still will not work

Crawler/Meds - the only disc i recieved with my PC was Windows Vista 64 bit. This is what I used to reinstall windows

Can you let me know your order number so that I can investigate this further for you? It sounds like the device is unable to start, and might need the drivers installing a specific way.
