Expansion Slot

I currently have the ATI AMD Radeon (TM) R7 370 Series graphics card on a Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 on expansion slot 1, I need access to the slot next to it to fit a Asus PCE-AC68 for Wif-fi. Can I simply move the graphics card to slot 3 without any issues, running a single monitor, no bells or whistles, just need the room to fit the adaptor card.

As PCS sell custom desktops and laptops we can’t advise on self builds or competitor builds, you may want to check out toms hardware which is an open forum.

For clarification on my last post, the PC build was from PCSpecialist, hence why I posted on this forum. I thought having had the computer built by them, using the forums might have been a better place to find an answer. But hey ho.

Don't move the GPU to slot 3 - no point. As you can just plug the wifi card into any slot (i.e. you can plug it into an x16 slot even if it's not x16 length itself) you might as well keep the GPU where it is and plug the wifi card in elsewhere.

Maybe the 2nd PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (i.e. the other gold one with the latch) as apparently the motherboard can apparently run x16/x16 so it won't chop the bandwidth for the first slot where the GPU currently is.

The PCIe 2.0 x16 (which is really x4) slot might limit the wifi card - though I might be surprised if you were actually getting those speeds. You can always try the card in both and see :)

*(Edit for clarity - Asus confused the heck out of me with the slot arrangements on the board for a while)
