120GB SSD probably, but whats your intended uses? I guess gaming, but are you also video editing or something too? If not then 16GB is probably overkill, 8GB will be plenty.

The SSD you will feel the benefit every day, where as the extra RAM will sit empty most of the time, that and 16GB is already a huge amount of RAM anyway.

If it was me I would grab a 120GB SSD + a 750Gb scorpio black

Either way, get the review Vortex - it carries a 200 pound discount so you're getting a 1650 laptop for 1450...

Click on the 'reviews' tab on the top of the PCS homepage. It's the first review computer on the list. I would post a link but I'm on my tablet and it's a pain in the ar5e.

Don't try and configure it or you'll lose the 200 pound discount... you have order it as it is. You can amend things like software and warranties after you've ordered through the 'amend order' area.

Here is the review section. http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/reviews/, it is indeed a great laptop for the price.

In other news, I think slim is on a commission for this laptop lol, he recommends it to everyone recently :p (but it is true it is a great deal so I will let him off)

On a serious note, I do recommend it whenever relevant because I get the idea that not many people realise there are bargains there to be had and they might waste money on an identical build paying full price.

I nearly did that when I got my Vortex III a while ago until someone mentioned the reviews section to me saving me a few hundred pounds. I now feel duty bound to pay that good deed forward to anyone else who may not know about those deals!

Now go and buy a review section PC... DO IT!!!

Windows 8 isn't so bad once you get used to it, I'm still one 7 myself but you can download all sorts of widgets to get the start menu etc back. Not soooooo bad once you get used to it, according to my brother anyway...

Yeah I saw you mention it a couple of times in the past, took a look and I too have since recommended it at least once. it is a great deal, only poking a bit of fun that's all :)

To the OP... Pcs build these from scratch and I'm sure they'd install you windows 7 on it instead of 8 if you rang them and asked for it without losing any discount.

Me Again,
When you say you can edit software in the 'amend order' afterwards can you remove the OS altogether?
Cheers

I'm not sure because I've not done it for a while now, but I'm pretty certain that you can amend anything other than hardware. The amend order page basically just looks like the normal configurator page, you just amend what you want to whatever you want (assuming it hasn't got to the building stage at that point of course).

But you won't be allowed to amend hardware because it's set in stone in regards to the discount. OS, warranties and things like peripherals and cooling pastes would I'm sure be amendable. Best thing is to ring PCS to confirm and say what you want... They're very accommodating and when I amended my review build a while ago they explained exactly what could and couldn't be done.

So to answer your question, I'm willing to bet if you speak to them they'll build you that review laptop with either windows 7, 8 or with no OS without losing the discount.
