Extremely loud bang and power cut out

Hi guys, my pc just made a huge bang and the power cut straight out and won't turn back on. I'm assuming the power supply exploded? It's only a few months old so I think the warranty will cover this but is there anything I can do now quick to test anything? Any ideas of anything else that may have been damaged from it? It's fairly well ventilated and doesn't feel hot at all and has been operated and much warmer temperatures than this, its plugged into a surge proof plug socket and the rest of my houses power is fine(including and sensitive fish tank setup) yeah abit annoyed to say the least

Sounds like a dud power supply, I wouldn’t suggest turning it on at all, you run the risk of frying other components, just leave it off and arrange an RMA.

What surge protector do you have? Sounds like that failed entirely to break the circuit.

Just a standard surge protection extension lead. That cut off and shut everything else down. Which is now all working fine just the pc is dead. What a pain

Also not that it should make a difference it happened whilst launching and loading assassins creed valhala after installing its latest update so a decent load but not anything it hasn't done before (I have 80 hours on the game pre update)

Sorry to hear about this Wildlands523.

Sounds like the PSU has popped, is there a slight burning smell coming from it by any chance?

We can get this sorted out for you, I believe you've sent an email which I just replied to.
