FedEx being weird

Delivered to our Newsagents and our staff member accepted it for me as I was off this morning. Sent in original Lian Li O11 Case box. Box in perfect nick thankfully. GPU well protected inside with expanding foam bag formed around GPU. Can see how Marcmorrow1s' Tempered glass got smashed though. Top and bottom of case have white foam protection but just air between the cardboard box sides and the side panels of the case so it only takes bumping the box into something stiff and somewhat pointy to pierce the cardboard and smash the glass. PCS should maybe consider inserting more foam rectangle pieces around the case between the two foam 'end-caps' so to speak.

You'll be lucky to get a single photo with the side panel off and the other parts/boxes I'm putting into it arrayed around it. I ordered mine without fans and with a bog standard AMD Cooler because I am adding other aftermarket parts like H150i Elite Cappellix AIO and 9x Corsair QL120 fans, 7" LCD Sensor Panel Screen etc, so as shipped the PC is pretty empty and not very photogenic . That Strix 3090 is a Beast of a GPU in terms of size though :D I'm waiting for a Coolermaster Vertical GPU bracket and 24pin Strimmer+ RGB Power cable to arrive by the end of the week. Probably won't get a chance to rebuild the PC till next week as a result. Then the photo's will arrive in a Tsunami. :D

Its weird. From the outside the case is wider and taller than I expected yet on the inside it feels smaller than I expected. The opposite of a Tardis :D Probably the huge 3090 GPU skewing my perception of the size of the interior. I had planned to mod and mount the vertical GPU mount one slot lower than its supposed to go so that the tall 3090 doesn't obscure several inches of Ram slots when mounted vertically but even in the Dynamic XL I'm not sure that'll actually be possible. So glad PCS persuaded me to go with the Black XL Dynamics they had in stock for their Liquid series rather than order in the regular non XL white Dynamic I originally wanted them to, as even the XL will likely only barely allow me to do what I originally planned. The non XL would have been too small.

Thrilled that I ended up with a Black Strix 3090. When I originally wanted the White O11 Dynamic case I was keeping my fingers crossed for a White Strix3090 that I'd seen another PCS customer get which would save me plasti-dipping the GPU Shroud white to match the case. However, when I switched to the Black Dynamic XL case, I now absolutely did not want a White Strix3090 anymore. Thankfully I ended up with a black Strix. Also very happy the generic placeholder cooler they fit was the AMD Wraith Prism as I can mod that to fit in my Intel Media Server where I wanted a reasonably attractive low profile RGB air-cooler. So that placeholder part isn't going to go to waste.

I'll try and take that photo this evening after work and when I've cleared up my desk. Currently there are PC components and related detritus everywhere from modifying and building a 6 Bay Media server in a Coolermaster Masterbox Q500L for my brother.

Gosh, I can feel how excited you are! Congrats on your new beast and I'll be looking forward to those pics! :D

Its lucky I can't rebuild or commission the PC for a few days because tbh I might be a bit too over excited today to do it. ie. Might rush things and let a screw driver slip or something like that. Can't wait to get stuck into it though. Was so tempted to though despite what I said. Talked myself back out of it due to cable-ties and cable labels just ordered not coming till Thurs/Fri too believe it or not. With all the RGB Fans x12, Corsair iCUE Lighting Nodes, Commander Cores, Commander Pro's etc there is going to be an incredible mass off cables running hither and tither in the PSU compartment of the O11 case and without the ties and labels it'll be hard to do in the first place but especially hard to comprehend for any future tear downs if I don't label and organise everything at the very beginning.

So I really have to try and contain todays excitement and not be tempted to start yet :D

Mine arrived this afternoon too. Spent a couple of hours stripping it down to put in my Wraith Prism cooler, hard drives and my EVGA Supernova PSU (felt bad ruining their nice cable management). I was expecting the base Radeon 6700XT but it came with a triple fan XFX Speedster which was nice. The PSU was a tight fit in the Masterbox TD500 case but everything is up and running perfectly now. Another happy customer here :D

I went to pick up myself. Requested that yesterday and today it arrived at depo. Got call 8:30 AM by local facility FedEx saying my package was ready for me, told them I was going straight away to pick it up. 15 minutes later I receive call from delivery guy asking me where I live and that he will be delivering a package for me today. So uhm... I guess they don't talk or communicate? Told the driver I was going to pick it up myself since it's what I requested and that I got called by them 15 minutes earlier for pickup. He sounded surprised and didn't understand. Went to FedEx depo and picked up package. They have to review a lot of things lmao

Same for me, XFX Speedster it is. I also installed a GPU support bracket

Hi man ,my one is stuck in shannon clearance delay today.hiw long did your one take you?
Customs can usually take up to 72 hours for it to be cleared, usually quicker. If your parcel is selected for an advanced screening it can take up to 10 days although it's unlikely to be selected at random :)

I don't understand this at all I guess,I ordered alot of stuffs on amazon uk ,and it arrive in less than 3days time .I am curious as to why amazon orders never has problem.
Are you seriously comparing PCS to Amazon who had a revenue of $386 billion in 2020? PCS are outsourcing couriers and adapting to the global changes, while Amazon are making a huge impact and setting the global rules in the online purchases market. Amazon has their own couriers plus outsourcing. Amazon has very strict and tight contracts with couriers, penalties are involved. There was a recent article somewhere of how Amazon jobs are unfavourable, there is no consideration about employees wellbeing, company's logistics is well thought and tracking is integrated, everything works seamlessly 24/7 as it's a huge market place.

PCS are the best at what they do, but delivery isn't included in their direct work, as they are outsourcing it. I'd imagine that FedEx are fed up by demand due to some companies not delivering internationally from the UK as previously. While before items from UK didn't require customs check, now it's involved in the process. Who knows, maybe Amazon has a preclearance process, some cooperation involved (at huge amount of customers and items involved). Brexit decision has been made on Christmas time, just about a week before it came in to effect. But for delivery companies and customs it wasn't enough time as they need now much more space to store items for a few days until items get cleared while paperwork is checked. Covid also blew up a demand. I doubt delivery companies wants to invest big money to build big storages due to Brexit as they don't know if that would be used when Covid will settle and physical shops will open. Just think logically :)

Was hoping to get my hands on the PC I ordered today to have the whole weekend to (re)install everything and give the new toy a whirl but I guess its not happening. It was scheduled to arrive by 18:00 today but that changed to 'by the end of day' at 18:00 and its still showing exactly that even though it's already 20:40(08:40 PM).
Supposed to be delivered to Finland but the last bit says...

That's Cologne, in Germany. There's no way the delivery could have been realistically made today, is there? I would have honestly not minded if they just gave me a more 'realistic' date, just a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to setting everything up this weekend since I'll be home all alone. Anyone who's ordered from Europe had similar experiences?

I have had 3 RMAs in the last 3 months, and all deliveries to Ireland through FedEx. In my experience, the only realistic/trustworthy up[date has been "Out for Delivery". Everything else, including "Scheduled Delivery" date means nothing!

I feel your pain, Mine is in Stansted after a week. So, I have another week to go minimum.

I ordered from Italy. Had several delays as well. Don’t worry about it. My suggestion is call them and ask to pick it up yourself once it’s at local FedEx station. That means you’ll be able to pick it up in the morning yourself without waiting for delivery :)

Got my beasty pc .I am very happy with the beauty so far.But they need to sort the delivery issue out.Longer delivery times due to brexit is understandable, but false advertisement is not good.if can't guarantee next day delivery or 2-3days delivery, don't advertise it that way,It's extremely annoying for a consumer, when pcspecialist know well enough it won't arrive in time and they still advertise it that way.

Delivery timeframes from a company are never guaranteed. They are expected delivery timeframes given out based on hundreds, if not thousands of other orders and it's possible for some parcels to become delayed. No matter what company you're ordering from a delay with a courier is always possible
