I was thinking about changing the ram to 1600, but i understand 1333 is just fine for gaming, maybe changing the cooler to an evo, but i will not be overclocking this cpu, and i think the titan is quieter. anyway....thanks in advance.

You will be perfectly fine with the1333MHz RAM since you're not overclocking, and the Titan in your spec should be fine.

Also since you're not overclocking you can drop the CPU down to the non-k variant (i.e. the i7-2600), the k-variant is really meant for overclockers.

thanks, my original idea was t go for an unclocked 960 on the 1366 socket instead of this, but after reading lots of reviews and seeing benckmarks, the 2600 was much better in about 90% of tests. With regards to the cooler, i have seen reviews by people complaining of their cpus getting hot really quick due to the titan unclipping and the paste coming off, i am minded to change to the eco 2 alc, but i wonder if the radiator will block the intake fan making the airflow, well...awful?

To be honest I've never seen any complaint in these forums about peoples Titans unclipping themselves, and I have a 'TITAN FENRIR EXTREME DIRECT TOUCH COPPER CPU COOLER' which I think it the slightly older/different version of the EVO (or they just renamed it) and mine is still quite happily attached :) (and I've had it for a bit over a year now)

For Nvidia cards, PCS generally use Palit ones, though it's not guaranteed.

I dont see where the rad will block the intake fan? the only intake fan is on the front the top and back are exhuast (they should be). depending which coolit cooler you want, the short single rad gets installed on the back exhuast with the fan. if you went for the double rad which is the C240, it will go on the top. the fan will pull air through the rad and exhuast it out.

oh, i meant to ask, which brand of the gtx580 1.5gb cards do pc specialist use?

Normally the Palit but i could be wrong. the one i received is the Palit brand. You can call up pcs an ask but i believe its still currently the Palit brand :)

Edit: just refreshed. adding to Rakk's comment too.

thanks for the replies, so do you think i should go for the single rad cooler or the titan evo?

I will go for the 2600k, just in case i do overclock a little, and for the extra few pounds i may as well give it a go.

the cooler really is the last piece of the jigsaw, once the spec is sorted, i will hopefully have a reasonably future proof gaming pc, well thats the plan anyway.

the titan and coolit liquid cooler will both give you good cooling. the liquid cooler is small and has a rad which has potential to do a Push Pull Config to get extra cooling normally so more airflow and space in the case. the titan however has good cooling but its a big block and takes up quite a bit of space but you do not need to worry about any small tiny percentage of a water leak. so it is your choice.

for the case you picked, i would go for the small rad if you choose the liquid cooler over the titan.

you can still overclock the non k variant i7 but not to crazy unnecessary clocks as the K.

the only time the titan may slightly pull away is during a rough transit and is sorted by tightening the loose screws

thanks, i think i will go for the eco cooler, mainly to save space and i'm a tad concerned thesize of the titan evo may force the removal of some of the ram from the motherboard.

Although, a bit noisier the eco cooler seems a good solution, i guess it would run more efficiently if there was an added fan so as to create a push/pull configuration, does anyone know if when during the ordering process i can ask for this fan to be added, and if the pc spec guy who builds it connects the fan to the speed comtroller?

i doubt it will be connected to the fan controller due to it being part of the CPU cooling system, and CPUs go pop in seconds if uncooled

im not sure if they will add it at all, they would be happy to do it if you sent them your own fan but i doubt they will add one for free
