First custom built PC for a noob.

Hello everyone,

I'm currently using an Alienware X51 R3, which I've had for about 4 years now and oh boy, do I regret the purchase. This is actually the second desktop, because they had to replace the first one in just under a year! So, this time I'm looking for a custom built PC and something that can handle Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Which I'm sooo pumped for! My current PC plays AC Odyssey at about 20 FPS at most on reasonable graphics settings and when it gets to the battles I'm lucky to get over 10 FPS!

I am an absolute noob when it comes to understanding processors, motherboards, RAM and ... anything, really. I used Scott's guide to create a configuration, but I still feel a bit lost, so have kept some options on default. My budget was originally £2,000, but I've already passed that and willing to go higher, as I have been saving over the pandemic. My current monitor is a Dell S2340L 23" 1080p, but I'm looking to upgrade to a 1440p - no idea which one, though.

Any advice on my spec would be very much appreciated, please and thank you! :)

Not sure about any other uses for this system besides gaming so I may have over-specced on the CPU here but something like this should be good (note it also includes a monitor) for 1440p 144Hz:

Thank you so much for your help. I ended up going for a 1TB SSD and went for the Asus 1440p monitor.

Did you use the spec Nurse gave?
On your build you had put more budget into the GPU and gone with the 2080 Ti, which would of been completely wasted for what you describe (even with the upgraded monitor).

The 2070 Super Nurse put would of been far far better and you wouldnt be wasting all the 2080 Ti capabilities (which are going to be more VR and 4K gaming) Also gave you a much better CPU.

What was the full end spec you ordered?
