Hi, its much easier to give advice when we know what you plan to use the machine for and what your budget is :)

Otherwise we will just be commenting on components in isolation which isn't really helpful for you.

Of course yeah sorry:LOL: it’s going to be used primarily for gaming but also as a workstation for music production using ableton. Budget is 2000 and this just about goes over that but that’s ok.

What level of gaming are you looking for? I've selected the 1660 Super in the following build which is overkill for 1080p and approaching 1440p.

If you want 1440p you could push to the 2060 Super
If you want to start scratching 4k then you will want your original 2080 Super paired with the RMx 750 PSU
If you want high end 4k then the 2080 Ti is the only real option paired with the RMx 750 PSU

Just FYI, this is absolutely going to smash anything you throw at it professionally. You could up the RAM to 32GB if Ableton uses a lot of it but I believe it's fairly old-school software with reasonably minimal requirements.

Agreed with the above.

Is it definitely worth the R9 3900x for Ableton and gaming?

Dropping to the R7 3700x or even R5 3600 would open up more budget for a better GPU and a very good monitor to pair with it.

Think I’m going to stick with the i7 to be honest find a fair bit of research on the processor and think it best suits my needs, thanks for the suggestions though 🙂. Also if I was to select for a WiFi card in the wireless/wired section does it still come with a LAN port?
Thank you:giggle:

Your first build is genuinely poorly balanced and a waste of cash. Regardless of AMD or Intel.

Hero motherboard. You'll be doing extreme overclocking? (and if you were you'd be buying the Master anyway as it has the better VRMs afaik). Hero's almost never the right choice - and tbh neither is the Master for most people.

2080 Super for... what monitor? Please not 1080p :) Or 1440p 60/75hz either.

4x8gb rather than 2x16gb RAM is £20 + more load on the memory controller.. for aesthetic preference?

Buying a cheap case, and trying to improve it by adding fans, versus buying a better case that has better airflow/design and better fans to begin with.

H60 cooler, which is pretty well never the best option versus any of the alternatives.

2 budget SSDs - where a £2000+ budget and music production uses are actually a valid case for buying some of the better ones

Think I’m going to stick with the i7 to be honest find a fair bit of research on the processor and think it best suits my needs, thanks for the suggestions though 🙂. Also if I was to select for a WiFi card in the wireless/wired section does it still come with a LAN port?
Yes, the wifi card plugs into one of the motherboard's expansion slots while the ethernet port is grouped with the other I/O connectors

I don't mean this in a negative way - clearly you've done a lot of research - but if you have to ask whether motherboards still have their ethernet port if a wifi PCIe card is added, you might want to take some advice and give some more detailed consideration to your component selection to make sure it's actually the best fit for your uses and budget.

Questions are good - ask any question that comes to mind - but I'm very concerned that the above spec doesn't fit the needs you've mentioned well at all versus something almost half the price.

Just because a motherboard gets a "good" review doesn't mean it's good for you. Or the best option given the specific pricing and availability of alternatives from PCS's offerings.

Yeah I’ve made a couple adjustments since I first posted this like 2x16gb rather than 4x8 and the SSDs, and for the monitor I will be getting a 4K one, so the 2080 super isn’t going to waste.
In terms of motherboards I’m still a little unsure on what would be best for this build just for the fact I’m very new with this whole process so I definitely need to keep researching before I go ahead and buy it.

I appreciate the help and if you have anymore advice over the parts that would be sweet

What's the full spec looking like now?

Is the 32gb RAM for gaming, or for the music work?

And which monitor exactly?
