First PC help

Greetings Traveller,

I am trying to help my younger brother in his search for a PC, used primarily for gaming, after a bit of searching I was directed to this site. We both have very limited knowledge on PC gaming, other than occasionally playing Football Manager on my laptop I haven't touched a PC game since Ecco the Dolphin and Comix Zone.

His budget for a PC and monitor is £1,200 and would most likely play racing games, GTA and Flight Simulator.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You'll want a decent monitor, and for this budget something 1080p, 144hz, and with adaptive sync (inc this case Freesync) would seem in order.

There are the newer 3000 Series AMD CPUs, but they are quite a bit more expensive (going to an X470 mobo, 3200MHz RAM, and an R5 3600 ups the price ~£100 or so).

The above should do fine, and you could add in a 2TB HDD for some more storage and still be under budget.
