I would switch the Wifi out to the AX200.

With the storage, if it were me, I would go with a 500GB 980 Pro and the 1TB PCS M2 for the secondary. You take the hit on the space but you gain some serious speed. The PCS drive would be perfect for FS2020, addons and any additional games you want to add.

All that aside, the rest of the build looks spot on :)

Thanks Scott.
I will do as you advise.

In that case... I’d suggest potentially going for the 5900X CPU. Flight Sim favours more cores so it wouldn’t do you any harm and you’d have a beast on your hands.

And having recently joined the ultrawide monitor club, I’d definitely suggest getting one of those. It offers so much more immersion in games and sims where you’re in the driving seat / cockpit.

Hi Scott
I will go with the 5900x CPU. Is it ok to put in a 1TB 980 Pro as the primary drive as against the 500GB?

Oi, it was me who made that suggestion, not Scott 😜

I have a 500GB Samsung 970 as my boot drive for my OS and programs and a second 1TB Samsung 970 as my games drive.

You can absolutely have a 1TB for the primary, I prefer to have that smaller size so I’m not encouraged to fill it with rubbish and slow it down 😆

The ultimate luxury move would be the 500GB 980 as the primary and the 2TB Firecuda as the fast storage. That pair will be a blistering combo.

The 500GB for me is psychological. With a fast SSD you only want to fill around 50% of it. Having that in mind makes a 500GB drive approx 250GB. Having anymore than 250GB on a primary drive is OTT IMO. Having 1TB would just be expanding that further and I think it would be detrimental to be honest. The exception would be if you were to use partitioning.... but you wouldn't really get the benefit due to how the drive works. You don't really want to partition a primary system drive, that leads to queueing when using the partitions at the same time.

As above though, for the 2nd drive..... fill your boots. However many games you think you will be interesting in having, the more space you would need. They are pretty large now but having games on a fast drive is just a load time luxury. It doesn't really add anything to the experience.
