freezing when gaming help!

We have brought this laptop :

The specs of the laptop are Nvidia gt 740m 2gb

intel core is 4200m 2.5 ghz quad core

8 gb ram

no overclock.




We have downloaded a few games and there appears to be issues.

Hitman absolution: requires a NVidia gt 8600 graphics card or higher. this has the NVidia gt 740m which is supposedly 63% better than the required card. The games built in benchmark software

stated that we should get 20-60 fps averageing at 27 which is acceptable but when the game plays it freezes at certain points (screen image freezes can still hear game going on in background) it may stay like that or it may start again a bit later on in the game) .

There are the exact same issues when playing the tomb raider game I have more than the mimimum card and ram. Tomb raider requires at least a directx 9 card with 512 mb or RAM. I have been running both games on the lowest graphical setting at 800 by 600 resolution.


Can you please let me know what you think the issue is with this laptop as we brought it mainly to play these games and it has more than enough spec.

have you try a clean installation of drivers? the resolution you are choosing is 800x600 at the low settings?

The PC is new from pc specialist, we haven't installed any extra drivers, do we need to? We have a driver disc but no instructions. There didn't look like any relevant drivers

Brilliant just downloaded the updated driver from their website and seems to b working fine now.
