Frustration Bad Experience

I do video and photography and my current PC is now three years old and has been causing me problems for a while so I decided to do a massive upgrade with the idea it will last me.

So placed my order in the 1/10/2020 a high-end PC built for video editing £4k+ and have been one of the lucky people waiting for Nvidia to sort out their stock issues with the 3080 (not PCSPECIALIST fault). Ive order 256gb of 3200 ram to go into this PC when it arrives as for some reason you cant that in the configurator.

I have delayed where possible a lot of editing work as its becoming a complete chore on the PC and with waiting a month with the chances of not getting for anytime soon in a desperate attempt to get this PC quicker i upgraded to the 3090 just to get the computer.

However what i would say PCSPECIALIST needs to resolve is the time to pick up the phone / answer emails, I understand that demand due to Nvidia has caused a lot more communications but today, for example, i have called twice today with 40mins being on hold each time before i get through is really not great and leads to frustration and i do feel for the guys answering the phones.

Anyway, I get a notification that my PC has finally been despatched, god that was great news back on 2/12/2020. Tracking says its with the delivery depo (assume its a delay in sending a notification as its very quick to get to our local depo) and due for delivery on the 8th so took time off work to take delivery and set up all my software. Todays the 8th so i check the tracking to see its not out for delivery just marked as still at the depo.

So i call PCSPECIALIST at 9ish well would be about 9:40 after being on hold just to see if they can check with haulage company to see if its going to be delivered today, that's my first call and get told the company they use and they would speak to them and get back to me at lunchtime. Roll on 3pm and no one has called me or emailed me to give me an update, so i call the haulage company myself and speak to a lovely lady who needs to speak to the Scotland depo and call me back. She calls me back to say they need to check the warehouse and she will get back to me. Now 4 pm i call them back and get told that they will need to do some checks to see where the pallet is, no one can confirm to me where it is.... ok this sounds really suspicious.

So I call PCSPECIALIST again and wait 40 minutes being caller 6 this time, again no communications to myself from PCSPECIALIST, its me having to chase this again which is frustrating. Can't confirm if it has left the warehouse so im not waiting for a call tomorrow to see what is going on, where is the PC ive bought and paid for back in October.

I really am not into giving companies a hard time im just frustrated with my whole experience in trying to get a PC.

Why are you angry with PCS when what the delivery company does is essentially nothing to do with them? You should have been taking
this up with the delivery company from the first second and you only take it up with PCS if you get told the computer is 'lost' (stolen by someone at the warehouse) because then PCS will need to file a claim and send you a new PC. I'd be onto the delivery company about this rather than these forums.

I am annoyed at my experience of trying to contact / communications with PCS I have explained that above. No one seems to know where the pallet is including if it left PCS. I have been contracting the delivery company as i have said above it has been me chasing this then contacting PCS back.

If this is a mainland delivery then DPD will be handling it. I believe that if you download the DPD app you can find out where your package is.

DPD is a franchise which means each area is effectively a different business, some are better than others.

Edit: I just read your latest post. Have you received notification from PCS that it's been collected for delivery?

Thanks UBUSA its on a pallet due to the size but i have contacted the company as well so hopefully will know more tomorrow as ive asked to get a call back from PCS to see what is going on.

If you still have problems after tomorrow let me know and I'll see if I can escalate this for you.

Its was meant to be going with Pink Link who are looking it at their end, im just hoping its in a corner of a warehouse somehwere.

If its on a pallet mine came with Pallet Ways. I have to say everything was 10/10 dispatch and delivery wise. Communication be it email or the tracking was faultless.

Edit, I see you are in Scotland? maybe Pallet ways isn't up there?

Im north of Inverness so pretty far noth in Scotland, we get pallets delivered by Caledonian Logistics on a regular basis and they do Palletways but they don't have it.

What does the tracking info say in regards to what stage the delivery is?

Mine had some consignment notes, like scanned onto vehicle, which I guess is the PC loading up at PCS, then there was a 4 hour break until, vehicle entry scan and then a load more notes which were around the same time so I guess it was at Palletways depot as it stayed there over the weekend, until Monday delivery.
Maybe if yours is similar it might narrow it down to where it may actually be.

At delivery depo, but it has said that as soon as i got the despatch email. No way its went from middle England to Highlands, i thought it could just be a slow email to come through.

Next notification on palletways would be out for delivery

No consignment notes like scanned into vehicle etc. Makes me wonder if it's even left

Depends where the actual delivery depot is I guess, PCS is West Yorkshire I think, mine had a 4 hour trip it seemed to the depot, Fradley Depot it says on notes, and then only an hour from there to my address in the East Midlands.

Does it say some hub name before the with delivery depot part?

Pallet origin -> Fradley Hub -> Delivery Depo no information.
I think my delivery depot was actually the Fradley hub as it was scanned into 91 and on delivery morning out of 91. I think Fradley is in Staffordshire, so yours went sideways and backwards from you. Something like 450 miles away.
Does sound like it should be the delivery depot, whoever that is with for you and maybe Palletways that should have more info than PCS.

Can see its frustrating though for you, hopefully tomorrow brings you some joy, keeps us updated so we know your sorted.

Had a VM from Pink Link last night that they are doing a search of the warehouse and got a call in the morning to say they had located the pallet and its now on the way. That's a relive.
Phew! Really glad to hear that, it’d have been devastating if that was sat under someone else’s xmas tree this year 🎁🎄

(Given that it’s on a pallet, I can only assume that those emojis are probably on a 1:1 scale)

That is good to hear!

I would write a complaint to PCS, including an explanation of what happened and the amount of work you had to do to locate the package. PCS need to know when their contractors are fouling up.
