My question is, do people game on these laptops actually on their laps.

I can only game right now on the sofa as I don't have a separate space, I am using an ageing Macbook Pro with Bootcamp at the moment, and I just use a small cushion to avoid burning myself, which on a macbook is fine because the fans are not on the bottom, will this be possible with the above laptop?

Edit: After some research I can see that the Vortex has fans on the bottom, so my question should really be: What laptop stands have people used successfully while sat on the sofa?

Thanks!

A cushion is not a good idea, not only does it block the airflow but it absorbs heat meaning that what little air gets sucked in is already hot.

Get a hard tray and put the laptop on that on your lap. Better yet, get a laptop cooling pad, put that on the tray and the laptop on the cooling pad. :)
