Hi, I’m just after some advice as to whether this build is okay. It’s within my budget but just want to ensure it’s good for my needs before I buy it :) I travel with work a lot and will use this for a lot of AAA single player games when I’m away, and for multiplayer games at home.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Get 16gb RAM (2 x 8gb).

You might find yourself beneftiting from more than 12gb RAM with some games, in the future at least. Also note that if you have modules of different sizes, the larger module will only run the RAM in dual channel upto the capacity of the smaller module. So with 12gb as above, you're only getting 8gb RAM in dual channel.

Also get 2666MHz RAM as some games can benefit a lot.

You'll be keeping the system without upgrading CPU/RAM/GPU for many years, so pinching pennies on the RAM is not really optimal.

Just saw this: https://hexus.net/tech/reviews/laptop/130289-pc-specialist-156-recoil-iii-gtx/

Sold at a fixed £1249 price / spec:

16gb RAM, twice the SSD size, and a better GPU (1660 ti).

Worth looking at if 15.6" is acceptable.

Obviously a few £ more than your current spec (even taking into account the RAM suggestion) once you add the accessories / warranties, but potentially worth a look.

Thank you for your suggestions. I took in to account extra ram and changed my order to 2666Hz 16gb (2x 8gb) for an extra £28. I wanted to keep the same laptop because it was a bigger screen, and after researching GPU’s I feel a 1060 will be plenty good enough for how often/intensive I game.
