Hiya. Wouldn’t recommend going the i11 route, the title of this video says it all…

Can you tell us what make and model of monitor you have and what types of games you’ll be playing? That should assist any advice given.

Monitor is a benQ gw2470. I play primarily RPG/ RTS games, destiny 2 is my main game atm though. I'm going to get the new Warhammer total war in February.

Heya! Is there any particular reason you've gone small form factor? If you can make the stretch in size I'd 100% recommend going for a small ATX case (like the 220T here) for many reasons (better upgradability, better airflow, cheaper components).

With the budget you have I'd also highly recomemend a monitor upgrade factored into the cost, the 1080p 60hz monitor you have is really just a office monitor. Something like the Gigabyte M27Q will go very nicely with the 3060TI specced below.

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 220T RGB AIRFLOW MID TOWER GAMING CASE Good airflow smaller ATX case
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) Solid gaming CPU from AMD
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! All the motherboard you'll need for the 5600X, also has wifi included
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) AMD loves fast RAM so gone for a 3200mhz kit. Does Warhammer need a particularly large amount of RAM? 16GB is generally ample for the normal gaming build
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR Solid GPU to pair with the 1440p monitor mentioned above
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W) Super fast boot SSD for Windows and Applications
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW) Speedy 1TB SSD for everything else
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Much higher quality PSU that'll last longer and support a GPU upgrade down the road
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler Black Edition All the cooling the 5600X will need.
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card

@JUNI0R just green boxed me! I have tasted my own medicine and it is bittersweet 😑

Good build and recommendations, would absolutely head down this route with that budget 👍👍👍

Total War: Warhammer isn’t particularly heavy on memory but it is both CPU and GPU intensive. I’ve been dabbling with it on and off for a while and the 3800X in my system handles it without issue, I doubt that the 5600X would break a sweat because the Total War games are all about single threaded performance.

Thanks very much, I was looking at the 5600X or 5800X to replace my bad choice earlier haha. My monitor is pretty poor so appreciate the recommendation ☺️ I think I'll spend the extra to get 32gb ram but the same speed, just to save me upgrading if something comes out that I may need it for later, that wouldn't need a change for anything else would it?

Why? It’s an extra unnecessary spend. You’re literally throwing money away unless you’re planning on entering the world of streaming, modding, and content creation. There’s plenty other areas that would appreciate an extra £70 more than memory.

And if you did want to change your RAM situation at a later date, it’s the easiest upgrade there is. Find two matching sticks, click them in and BOOM, you’re done. You can spend your cash on that later, better to get the fundamentals right at this stage 👍👍👍
