Gaming PC Build Request

Hi All,

I'm hoping to get some help with gaming PC build, my budget is around £1700 for the desktop only. I would be using the PC mainly for gaming and some very light video editing from motorbike rides.

If I could get some recommendations for a monitor also that would be fantastic, my budget for this would be around £300.

If needed I can be a bit flexible with the budget.

I massively appreciate this and welcome all feedback/advice because as my name suggests, I'm a bit of a newb!

This might be a good place to start. It's based off an AMD platform that is very upgradable. The graphics card is a little old now but still very strong for 1440p, which is where you should be aiming with this budget. It's also not ideal for video editing, but far from awful. There are no Nvidia cards that make sense for your combination of uses and budget.

For a monitor, you want something 1440p, 144Hz or better, and IPS, probably 27". The Gigabyte G27Q or the Asus VG27AQ would be good places to start.

If you feel you can push the budget a little you could get the gaming CPU for the moment. It does add a little and need a bit better cooling but it's as good as it gets.

Regardless, the platform is a sound choice as the option will always be there to upgrade the CPU down the line if you wish.
