Gaming pc for beginner £1500 budget

It looks a bit unbalanced (old CPU, slow single stick of RAM, etc.) but we’d need to know more about your gaming requirements to help further, e.g.:
  • What games do you play / want to play?
  • What resolution & refresh rate do you intend to game at (1080p/1440p/4K at 60/120/144/240Hz)?
  • What monitor will you be using (model number if you don’t know the specs)?
  • What’s your budget…and is it a hard or soft limit?

I tried to get the 16gb 3200mhz ram but it’s not available on the website so I have put that one on there for now but I will be upgrading to the 16gb 3200mhz

I will be playing games like fortnite, call of duty, gta etc.

For the monitor I own a 27” acer kg271 but I will be upgrading in the future to a 144hz or 240hz if possible.

I would like to get at least 1440p at 144hz but as I said I am really new to this scene so I’m still learning.

My budget is no more then 1500 right now but will upgrade from there

Also what cpu would you recommend thanks

I think you used the wrong configurator, you used the home office one rather than the gaming one

I have just configured another one it’s a little more then what I wanted to spend but it’s the most I could do any tips or anything would be appreciated

Do you know when these monitor upgrades will come and which one you’ll be going for? 1080p is quite a different ball game to 1440p so getting the correct GPU is an important job, as well as knowing when you’ll be upgrading so we know whether to prepare for a soon incoming monitor or not.

For CPU. The 5600X would be a solid choice, although worth mentioning that AMD has a few announcements on the 6th so it’s probably worth waiting for them before going ahead with a purchase.

I’ve just seen your new spec, what’s the price for this and what is the most you’re happy to spend?

The price is £1572 and for the monitor it will be 1 or 2 months after purchasing the pc and not sure I would Like the monitor to run at least. 144hz monitor but not quite sure which monitor yet

I have just changed the cpu to a 5900x and this is the current configuration

1440p 144hz really the sweetspot for gaming right now and the monitor id recommend picking up, they retail for about £300 currently. With your ever changing budget, it’s hard to know where to place it, but with what looks to be a £1,600 this is where I’d recommend. Any questions, ask away

Godlike
With your budget the 5900x isn't going to be able to fix. It needs a beefy motherboard and a beefy cooler to keep it ticking over and with your budget that will only come at a compromise to other components. This build comes with your plans to invest in a 1440p 144hz monitor in a couple of months time. The main 3 that we would recommend are the Gigabyte M27Q, the Asus VG27AQ and the Dell S2721DGF.
Main other area I've beefed out is the power supply. The CV series are very basic and are basically only worth it for office PCs. The RMx is a high quality PSU that will run quieter and cooler, and has room for upgrades down the line.

Nope, you won’t need the extra Corsair fans. The 3 that come on the front and the front and the one on the CPU cooler will be plenty. Not to mention, spending £60 of your budget on fans is a big waste of money.

Not sure how RGB relates to M.2’s, you’ll control the RGB of the case fans through Corsair iCUE and the RGB of the CPU cooler through Armoury Crate, there will be enough headers on the board to allow that
