Last thing, I am getting ready to buy everything that you have added above, however it has asked 2 last questions, one being that apparently I only a 350W power supply compared to a 550W, the second is whether the OS should be installed to the SSD or the mechanical hard drive! Could you provide what you think is best? Thank you

You will need a 550w psu on that build for future expansion and longevity.

OS should always been on the fastest drive, ssd in this case.

Hello,

Just to clarify from one of the previous questions what is the point of a WiFi card and where do I get one these?

It's worth noting that since you posted, new AMD CPUs have come out.

Could be worth re-evaluating the spec.

Also with current component pricing, a different SSD could be in order.

As for the wifi card, if you need one, you can select one from the "Wireless/Wired Networking" section under "5) SYSTEM REFINEMENTS" If in doubt, the AC1200 is a safe bet.

Of course, you only need one at all if you are connecting the PC to your home network with wifi. If you are plugging a cable from your router into the PC to connect it to the network and use the internet, you don't need a wifi card.

Faster CPU, faster RAM, better botherboard, cheaper but decent SSD. £80 more. So about 8% of the cost.

Performance gains would be relatively slim as you'll be GPU bound, but in terms of futureproofing and allowing for GPU upgrades down the line, a 3600 can certainly offer ~10% or more gains over a 2600. So worth considering.

You mentioned previously that Nvidia now supports FreeSync so it would be beneficial to get monitors that have FreeSync?

Oussebon

Multiverse Poster
Yes. Whatever spec of monitor you buy, you will want to have freesync / gsync / gsync compatible

Gsync compatible is Freesync where Nvidia say it works fine. But really it works fine on nearly everything with just normal freesync.

In view of freesync monitors cost the same or very little more than non-freesync monitors, it's absolutely worth getting at least a freesync monitor

Are you buying 2 monitors? Or just 1?

If you're buying 2, 1 for gaming and 1 for having web pages, movies, etc, you may not need to be too bothered about your 2nd monitor having freesync.

Yeah I’ll be buying two monitors. I’ll definitely buy at least one that has FreeSync on it. Is there anything else you think i will need/require?

Then taking PCS's monitor selection as an example, maybe something like:

1080p 144hz freesync monitor for gaming, and the cheapest height-adjustable 24" 60hz monitor for your 2nd screen. Not because you necessarily need height adjust but it could be handy for ergonomics.

Note that the 2nd monitor is a TN panel. If you shop around on other stores you might well find a similar spec (24", 60hz, height adjust) with an IPS panel for a similar price. The IPS panel could be useful for a 2nd screen, as it has better viewing angles and you're not doing to be as well positioned for viewing your 2nd screen as your primary one I expect.

But yes, ~£300 or so sounds very reasonable to get you the kind of thing you need.

Regarding this PC that I have now bought. I have set everything up fine and without any hassle. However, i have now began playing some games on this and whatever game I run it seems to be quite jumpy every so often. I am not too sure on what the issue is here but i am pretty sure it may have something to do with my keyboard or the connection between the PC and the keyboard. Any ideas??

Cheers.
