What is your maximum budget? There are quite a few areas that could do with improving. Please don’t buy this before you have received advice.

For this sort of budget, you'd ideally be looking at 1440p 144hz instead of 1080p 144hz. @Scott is our VR expert so there may be some changes he'd suggest but below should be a pretty compitent all round machine

PCS doesn't have the best selection of monitors so I'd recommend getting one elsewhere. Amazon UK currently has a decent price for the often recommended Dell S2721DGFA. If you'd rather use other markets, look out for the Gigabyte M27Q or ASUS TUF VG27AQ- all 3 are solid 1440p ~144hz entries.

Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE Significantly better case in both build quality and airflow
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) Solid gaming CPU from AMD's lineup. Might be worth waiting for PCS to add Intel B660 board for 12th gen before making a purchase
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! All the motherboard the 5600X will need also has WiFi
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) AMD loves fast RAM, whether 32GB is vital for VR I'm unsure
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR More powerful GPU for both the monitor and VR
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3000MB/sR | 1600MB/sW) Significantly faster and slightly larger boot SSD
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2200 MB/R, 1500 MB/W) Dedicated SSD for games
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Larger wattage and higher quality PSU for better efficency and more future upgradability
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
STANDARD AMD CPU COOLER
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence [KUK-00001] Are there any features of Pro that you know you need? If not, stick with home. I'd also personally stick to W10 over W11 currently
Operating System Language

Office Software
FREE 30 Day Trial of Microsoft 365® (Operating System Required)

BullGuard™ Internet Security - Free 90 Day License inc. Gamer Mode
Browser
Microsoft® Edge
Keyboard & Mouse
ASUS TUF Gaming K1 Keyboard, M3 Mouse & H3 Headset Bundle I've added this bundle, they won't be the most incredible set of peripherals, but will get the job done, these are the easiest things to upgrade at the end of the day
Warranty
3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) Well worth the 7 EUR

It really depends where you are with VR and what you are considering. If you're just after getting into it for a little play around then the above system has you more than covered. Unfortunately once you get into the higher resolution/refresh models the CPU, quite dramatically, comes into play due to the multi-tasking nature of using VR. The game physics themselves tend to rely quite heavily on the CPU and one of the main reasons to get into VR, Simulation, most definitely uses the CPU heavily.

With that in mind the 5900X or the 12700K would tend to be my go-to options. The 5800X be ideal also, I just like the idea of more cores for the future, as would the 12600K. For the budget to be there for the Intel would take the B660 as mentioned. Stretching to the 5800X would take a better cooler also, so I don't know if the budget is there.

As said, for gaming focus with a bit of VR dabbling the above has you more than covered.

Although how he could possibly leave Bullguard in there is beyond me 😇:p:LOL:
