Gaming rig, without Graphics card

Just wondering if this is a good rig to last me a good few years, I already own a GTX 670 2gb which will go in this system.

I only use it for gaming eg. BF3, Skyrim, Total war games, Comapny of heroes 2. (no pictures, film files or anything like that) so I think a 500 gb hard drive wil be more than enough for me, is the 500GB VELOCIRAPTOR a good choice or should I spend the extra money to get an SSD drive?

Also I chose the OC'd processor i5-3570k with the h80i cooler, is this a good choice for gaming?

Could I spend less and get a really nice case? I just liked the look of the storm trooper.

spec looks good,

personally, I;d go for a 120gb ssd and a 1tb caviar black as opposed to the raptor drive.

Total War games are processor bound, you should benefit from the overclocked i5 (not sure how significant the gains will be)
+1 to what Tom said.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, what would be the benefit of having the 2 different hard drives as apposed to the single raptor drive? as on my previous pc I had for 3 years I only used 240 gb of space.

An SSD will be faster than any HDD, quick to boot with windows and load applications. A caviar black will give you more storage for games, media and other programmes.

Ok thanks for the help buddy, I think I will go that route, would the standard 120gb Kingston SDD be OK just to keep the operating system on?

First off I already have an EVGA GTX 670 2gb FTW edition card (hence I have selected no GPU) and I have selected the 750W PSU so that down the line when my GPU gets abit old I can wack another one in there and SLI those bad boys, so hopefully a 750w PSU is enough power.

I also already have a nice monitor, keyboard, Mouse ect. so no need for any of them to add.

Case - I have chosen the COOLERMASTER HAF 922 MID TOWER GAMING CASE as mainly it looks sweet but it also has really nice reviews, am I better of spening more on a case or will this be fine? bearing in mind I will have a h80i cooler and possibly another GPU in the furture and just any general feedback on this case if anyone has it?

CPU / cooling - I went for the OC'd 3570k as one on the games I will be looking to play when it comes out is the new Rome 2 total war and I know these games are very CPU heavy so am I doing the right thing by getting this CPU with the OC'd option? Also is the H80i a good enough cooler to handle this CPU at 4.6 ghz or should I gor for the H100?? I am hoping this PC will last me 3 years, will the CPU last this long at such an OC?

Hard drive - I have chosen the 500GB WD CAVIAR BLACK as I have had my previous 500gb hard drive for 4 years and I have only filled 150 gb ( I only keep a max of 3-4 games on my PC at a time, no pictures, no music or anything else) are these HDD's fast enough or shall I go upto the faster 500gb Raptor HDD? ( I am not too bothered about SDD as they are just too expensive IMO unless there is a massive benefit for it)

I could stretch my budget to between 850-900 if it gets me some beneficial extras but I will leave that upto you guys if I am missing something.

I appreciate any feedback and I will be waiting to press the buy button at some point today :)

Nice build :)
The h100 will offer better cooling performance but the h80 is still a good cooler, if you are within your budget I wouldn't change anything.

Looks good, you seem to have it all figured. :)
I think the case would be fine but best wait and see what some of the other guys say.

Thanks guys, any thought on going for the Raptor over the Caviar HDD? I am coming from and old Seagate 5600 RPM HHD so would the Caviar seem allot faster to me without going for the Raptor?

I don't think you will have a noticeable difference between a velociraptor and caviar black unless you are benchmarkng.
