Gaming solution for Arch users

Hi all,

I've got a Defiance II on the way and I'm planning on using Arch as my main OS. However, I'm going to need a good solution for gaming and from what I can see I have a few options:

1) Dual boot with Windows.
2) Use Windows in QEMU/KVM
3) Rely on Wine/PlayOnLinux

Does anyone have any experience with these and have any recommendations for the best solution?

Thanks.

I use Linux but am not a gamer but from talking with people I know emulators or WINE can be problematic. If you have the disc space I would take the cautious approach and dual-boot as that gives you guaranteed gaming but you can also fiddle about with Arch to see what is possible.

Well it's going to have 2TB SSD + 256GB NVMe so disk space won't be an issue haha. It's just a toss up between the convenience of QEMU and the guaranteed gaming of dual booting as you say. However, since the NVMe is pretty damn fast maybe if I have both OSes on it the boot times might be tolerable when I have to switch between them all the time in a dual boot setup.
