Had this been available a year ago I would have bought it as it's exactly what I was looking for. PC capable of running Windows programs, mostly for use with browsers, that is light, thin, metal, and inexpensive.

The alternatives from ~£200-300 were all total junk. There was a big-brand, low-budget option where a reviewer said one of the keys already was coming off on their sample, and the one I saw in a store had literally the same issue. While cheap new-brand items online had even worse quality and durability problems as I found out, leading me to return 2 different models. Will be interested to see reviews on this model.

Only criticism of the spec is the 32gb memory rather than 64gb, as Windows can insist it doesn't have space to perform upgrades on that, even when the drive is pretty much empty. One has to get the media creation tool to perform an upgrade / clean install. I can see PCS tech support getting calls on this quite a bit...

It might have been nice to see a Pentium N4200 or similar but perhaps other chassis trying to squeeze that in had to compromise too much on either price or the build quality of the rest of the system.

I doubt anyone owns one yet as it seems to be a pretty new offering by PCS. If you ask them what chassis it's based on perhaps you can find out sooner than waiting for someone to buy it and experiment.

Edit: I only just noticed that ordering without the OS only reduces the price by £14.

Still £14 not going to microsoft - a (small) round of beers... :)

True, I was just thinking for those who might be considering a licence for dual-booting or whatever.

I've noticed this too, but if you add a second (bigger) m.2 drive, the difference between windows and no windows becomes a lot more significant.
E.g. with a 512 GB drive, it's £338 with win10 but only £259 otherwise. The latter seems really good value....... if linux actually works properly on this machine!

My limited exposure to machines with eMMC storage is that it's very slow in day-to-day use. Plus 32GB for modern Windows OSes is very constraining. I think an additional SSD would be pretty much a must-have
