Genesis II

Hello,

I have a Genesis II laptop purchased from here in 2010 and finally decided to get around to replacing the battery. Never had an issue getting hold of parts before having obtained a replacement power supply in the past. There are no spare items listed at all on my account so I am assuming PC Specialist no longer stock the items. I would like to know where I can find (in the UK) a replacement battery. I was rather savvy when I bought the thing getting 2 batteries but nearly 10 years on, they don't exactly last anymore.

Any ideas?

Bought one from eBay. It was too big! Fitted the slot fine but no good if you can't open the screen. Still no one?

Did you contact PCS to ask if they could give you any pointers? Chassis model maybe (which could also be on the underside of the laptop) could help find a compatible model of battery?

There's a number of batteries out there as it looks like asus used the same batteries in their machines. I assumed as the spare parts are no longer on the spare parts section the help would be minimal and point to ebay or something so thought I would ask here. Not sure what outside link policies are for PCS forums so will post info instead. I bought one of these: "BATTERY 6600mAh FOR Asus BATFT10L61 / BATHL90L6 / M740BAT-6 / INTC-729" on ebay (you can search it) after asking if it would fit. They said yes and well... see the attached. I don't like to buy from retailers I don't have any idea about. Electropapa appears to have the right thing available (different look to the one on ebay) at a decent price and is actually VHBW which is what is written on the replacement battery I received AND the same company on ebay that I bought from. What do you reckon?

We do no longer stock this battery, but the battery model is: 6 Cell Compal KHLB2/NBLB2 Battery
