There are lots of ‘lookalikes’ around…and even some of the big names seem to have very similar designs to others. The main differences tend to be in build quality and adjustability/upgradability.

There are trademark laws that you have to abide by though, so even though there are lookalikes, they'll be different to a certain degree.

This is flatout copyright infringement which is illegal.

Yes, they should not be identical, but most will make it different enough to avoid a lawsuit.

But you‘ll only get into much trouble if you’re manufacturing in the jurisdiction of a country that actually has robust copyright/patent infringement laws…and even then there’s probably enough shady companies that will just dump & run, then phoenix the company & repeat.

Not forgetting that places like China only apply those laws when they benefit home-grown companies.

Very true, and this is where places like Amazon come unstuck, people don't understand how these companies are spun up overnight, sell a load until the complaints get too bad and they're reported, then they shut down the company and spin another one up under a different name and carry on.
