@Macco26 Hi man, how did you get the new BIOS version ? I called PCS today and they said there is no new version of BIOS and that they need to get in touch with TongFang for it...

I told them that people already received it .. so now i am a little confused... did you get it from PCS ?

Absolutely. From the Italian PCS assitance, but they forwarded me copy/paste the email from their english BIOS specialist (with no name of him though)

Let them ask to the BIOS specialist if the Ionico does have a new 1.09 BIOS.

(in the Italian pcs forum someone has shared the direct link to this, but I would not suggest you to pick it and use it unless PCS is aware, just to be extra safe about possible warranty implications). I'm sure you'll find the right guy to answer this.)

If anything goes wrong I might give you the PCS specialist email of the guy who helped me, but he's dedicated to the italian PCS assistance. I won't put it here in public for sure.

Hello,

I am looking at purchasing the Ionico 17 (i7-11800H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, RTX 3060)

During my research I saw that the MUX switch was not enabled by default on this model (https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...17-new-bios-was-just-sent-to-me-by-pcs.79765/).

PCS have since released a BIOS flash March 2021

I was wondering if I will need to do this to enable the MUX if I bought this month or will the bios come pre-patched?

Thanks

You would have to confirm with PCS but usually it would come with latest.

I'm eyeing the ionico (5900hx, rtx 3070) etc.

Can anyone confirm the HDMI is 2.1 and DP is 1.4?

And also, that connecting either through HDMI or DP to an external monitor is a direct connection to the dGPU?

Cheers!

Whilst I don't own the Ionico specifically, I do own effectively the same laptop under a different name (same chassis and core components albeit a 5800H instead of a 5900HX).

The HDMI is 2.1 and connected directly to the Nvidia GPU whilst the USB C port offers DP alt mode (DP 1.4) also connected directly to the Nvidia GPU.

In my case I use a USBC to DP cable and am having no issues running my 3440x1440 monitor at 144Hz with G-sync enabled (note - your monitor or TV will also need HDMI 2.1 to enable G-sync - if it doesn't the option doesn't appear in the Nvidia CP).
