Google Play Store (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try

Hi, I have an early Samsung Galaxy, and have always had problems with memory and running apps. It's annoying because I have a huge 32gb sd card, but barely anything runs on it. I have looked into the application settings and only a handful of apps, like Fbook and ebay, are stored on the sd card.

So having many problems and memory warnings, I have tried to stop functions, to trade memory and space with other applications, but in doing so I may have caused another problem. As whatever I use to try and download any new apps, I get failure errors from Google, and any of the common app stores. Even when I try and download direct from the internet, I get the same failures. Normally from Google again.

I cant seem to get anything to work, which involves anything new.

model GT-S5830i
android version 2.3.6
baseband version S5830iXXMD1
build number GINGERBREAD.XXMD1

Whenever I try and download anything, it tries to load Google play store, and then errors begin, and says exactly....

"The application Google Play Store (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"

...and I can try as many times and it still fails

Have you tried a factory reset? That's about all you can try, if that doesn't fix it then it might be a hardware issue.

As the user on the other thread you link suggested, it may be down to the version of Android you are running. It's very outdated and hasn't been supported for a long while. I recommend upgrading to a device with at least Android 4.1 Jellybean. You can get devices with even newer Android versions for under £100. I think Vodafone offers a £60 phone with decent specs and Android 5.0

I have an older version of this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unlocked-Sm...F8&qid=1439035035&sr=8-1&keywords=swees+phone

The downside is that it will not support 4G, the upside is it is a fully unlocked 3G phone (I use mine with a sim only contract). I believe they are basically Samsung phones but without the branding. The new Ubuntu phones look interesting as well but are more expensive.

It's got some similarities but the specs are quite different. These "knock-off" phones can still be pretty good though. You can even get branded phones for good value these days. The Moto E can be had for under £100 and truly is an outstanding phone for the price and has a far more premium build than most of these knock off phones. Plus the knock offs tend to use remaining stock from old phones which are often left there for a reason (light bleed on screens is the most common issue)
