Graphics card constantly on

My gt580 seems to be constantly on and the fans going pretty much all the time. I thought it was supposed to revert to the inegrated graphics option when heavy gpu work wasnt needed? Ive checked with Optimus Tools, and its telling me that the nvidia gpu is on, but even when im not doing anything its still on. Is this normal for anyone else?

Yes second one did, thank you very much. I knew there was a button for some of the other laptops but I assumed the vortex just changed it automatically, didnt realise it wasnt actually supported. Thanks, this could actually help out a bit of a linux problem for me too.
