Great I7 workhorse laptop

I needed a fast i17 laptop for work with a 17" screen, with a lot of memory and fast ssd.

Searching about PC Specialist hit the mark so I priced up a 'Recoil Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080)' with 32gb ram, 4TB Samsung 860 QVO 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 550MB/sR | 520MB/sW),2TB INTEL® 660p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (upto 1800MB/sR | 1800MB/sW),Intel® Core™ i7 Six Core Processor 9750H (2.6GHz, 4.5GHz Turbo)

This came in at a good price compared to others. Its very hard to get a laptop like this now. Delivery was just over a week.

Used for for over a week now and very impressed. I turned off all the fancy flashing led stuff as that's not for me. I don't play games so cannot comment on this. I use it for running RedHat 8 under VmWare workstation on win 10 Pro. Very fast compared to my old HP Envy I7 laptop. Screen is non shiny too which is spot on.

If you want a work horse laptop then this company is great as you can spec it to what you want. Price wise other companies were quite a bit higher for similar.

Any negatives - At the moment all I can think is a minor one and that's the USB C is a bit close to the HDMI output at the back and would have been better on the side. It's not an issue though.

The tracking of the order progress was good and accurate. Communication of progress was good. Very easy to deal with. If you want a laptop tomorrow you may be disappointed but it's clear from the outset it's not tomorrow.

Thanks for posting the review - always good to see details on things like port placement. And confirmation the LEDs etc are simple enough to turn off :)

PCS do actually have next day systems though no laptops with 32gb RAM currently, and the specs are fixed.
