Greyed Out Options & Pre-Order Only

Hi guys,

I'm back looking for my second PCS desktop, as my first one (purchased in Nov 2010) has finally given up. I'll be requesting some help with configuration soon, but until then I'm reading up on some threads etc. and messing about in the configurator.

Can someone please answer the following:
1) If something is greyed out in the configurator options, e.g. in the GPU section, does this mean it's not compatible with the motherboard, or that it's just not available?
2) What does "Pre-Order Only" mean, when written after some items?

It means it’s currently out of stock, which means they have no confirmed arrival dates as yet.

What does "Pre-Order Only" mean, when written after some items?

Pre order basically means they’ve got more orders than they have parts in stock so there will likely be more of a delay.
