Am i not supposed to connect the power directly to the HD? I am really confused now, or amni using the wrong socket on my power source, i, motherboards tomahawak b450, power source integrator mod XT from aero cool 750w. Thanks for any help

Since these forums belong to PCSpecialist who sell custom built PCs and laptops I'm afraid we can't really advise on self-builds or builds from elsewhere - you might find the Toms Hardware site useful though as they are not tied to a specific retailer.

One thing I will say though is yes your hard drive does definitely need a power supply.
