HD6990m or 580M for a Vortex II laptop

I've decided to buy a vortex II laptop with the intention of using it for gaming but I am still unsure which graphics card I should get (HD6990M OR GTX 580M) . I have a couple of questions that could help me decide:

1) I saw on the forums that there there is the possibility of upgrading the graphics card at a future date with the vortex II. Would this be possible with both the HD6990m and the 580m, or is it just a possibility with the 580m?

2) Is optimus technology available with the 580m for the vortex II?

3) 580m comes with physX. Will there be much of a difference playing games with the 580m using this feature compared to playing without it on the 6990m?

Thanks :)

Welcome to our foums :)

1. Upgrades are possible but not guaranteed. Providing stock is available on future graphics cards that fit the chassis, we will be happy to offer you an upgrade.

2. Optimus technology is turned off on the Vortex series notebooks and cannot be enabled.

3. The 580M is the best graphics card, but the 6990M is a close second.

As well as the 680M being slightly more powerfull than the 6990M, the 580M also runs at a lower temp and also generally has better driver support.
