first of all, glad that I find a place where I can be supported by pc specs; with that I want to cheer all of you and introduce myself (SORRY if this is not the right section):

my name is Carlo, almost 30 years old living in Italy; on February I bought a Lenovo Legion Y520 "gaming" desktop from UK for a reasonable price (or that it's what I tought).. since last week I was ok with the config but once I've buyed new fps game, my CPU started giving multiple freezes and other than a known game issue (maybe hyperthreading on duo/quad core CPUs), I still have like 99% CPU usage and dedicated GPU not even on load (around 10%). Now I know the configuration is pretty generous for 2019 gaming, even for low-level details sometimes, so I did some researches and came here with poor knowledge about this type of upgrade.. I mean, I can do a pretty job with the hardware but I'm seeking for the right solution to balance, have a better experience and I've never tried to "tweak" a 2017 preassembled dekstop..

Motherboard is Lenovo and has B250 chipset (no overclock, sad)
CPU i3-7100 2core/4threads at 3.9ghz (LGA1151)
GPU 1050ti 4gb (just one slot)
RAM chinese SK Hynix 8x1gb 2400mhz (one slot is available, not sure if max frequency can be 3200mhz with 16x2? kits)
NO SSD (idk if this mb have like m2 2280, if I'm not wrong there are just 2 SATA that are busy for HDD and DVD but for the second I would not really be in need of)
NOT SURE ABOUT PSU but will provide more info..

Let's stay like this for the moment as you probably already figured what I've planned or trying.. so if there can be ANY suggestion (even rude, but necessary because with the black friday coming I would like to spend some money for this baby)..

THANKS AGAIN and catch soon for further info I'm now going to rest couple hours before transport night shift.. zzz

These forums belong to PC Specialist, who are a company that build and sell custom PCs and laptops across the UK and Europe. As such, we can't advise on specs from other companies or self build projects. You could try an open forum like Tom's Hardware.

Best of luck :)

No worries. If you do end up in the market for a new PC, you can post your budget and your needs, and people can suggest a PC Specialist spec for you to consider alongside any other options you are thinking about.

PCS to ship to Italy (quite a lot I think). There are also separate Italian language forums too: https://www.pcspecialist.it/forums/ though you are very welcome on the English language forums! :)

A 7100 and GTX 1050 ti are both budget, low end components. Some games will be CPU limited, but the best solution may just be to identify what is most demanding on the CPU and turn those settings down.

We can't advise on self-build projects (which is what you're asking about on these forums as they belong to PCS I'm afraid.
