Help, Laptop Screen Keeps Going Blank

Can anyone tell me why my screen on my laptop (Acer Aspire E15 Windows 10) goes blank every so often when surfing the web. The screen will go completely white and then come back again on its own which is fine if I am just for example browsing for things to buy or to look at forums ect.., but It's especially annoying though when playing online games as during game play it sometimes does it and causes me to often lose the game (8 ball Pool)

I can refresh the screen by pressing F5 and if I am lucky I can pick up where I last was but other times I have to start a new match all over again.
I keep everything updated and run programs to clean cookies and malware ect... but nothing seems to help. I have even tried to do some test on the hardware but so far it all seems okay (I think anyhow).

Please help as I have run out of ideas and this has been happening for months !!!

As these forums belong to PCSpecialist who build custom desktops and laptops, we can’t advise on self builds or competitor builds, you may want to check out toms hardware which is an open forum or more likely, the Acer forums.

First thing to do is completely uninstall graphics drivers with ddu then reinstall the latest.

But we can’t comment further.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn't realise I was posting in the wrong place. I already done that with the graphics card driver but that never solved my problem either, never mind I will try the other website you suggested. Thanks again...

I think we're ok offering general software and config advice on non-PCS builds, our help may convince people to consider a PCS build next time. What we certainly can't do is offer hardware or related advice on non-PCS builds.

@theOP it's hard to be definitive because there are so many things that could cause your issue. Using DDU and reinstalling the graphics driver is the clearly obvious first step. Since it's not that you might want to check whether it's the screen ribbon cable that's at fault by gently stressing the screen, moving it forwards and back etc. to see whether it goes blank just doing that. As a last test to see whether it's a software or hardware issue I would do a clean reinstall of Windows from bootable media (NOT a Windows Reset) - if the screen still blanks in that state then it's almost certainly a hardware problem.

I have a Acer E5-571 laptop and from time to time I have a problems with typing certain letters.

The same thing happened awhile ago but then I had hard drive changed and the problem disappeared however it has returned again and it's a pain trying to type.
I even replaced the keyboard once and that didn't help either.

It seems like there is some kind of software issue but I have updated everything and it still does it?

Space bar and the letter B are causing my the biggest issue at the moment, I have to repeatedly press them in order for them to work and even then it doesn't always and I have to resort using the online keyboard.

Any help would be appreciated!

Firstly check if you've accidentally enabled sticky keys (worth fully turning it off as it just causes issues):

If not, it's likely a software issue and a clean install should sort it.
