Help please re fans on Recoil III GTX

Hi
Bought a Recoil III GTX 17" a couple of months ago. Intsalled the gaming centre to control key lighting (i know it has game mode for fans too). PC is great, but in the last few weeks, fan noise varies sporadically from one day to the next. Mostly it will be low/inaudible. But some days, it is very loud (perhaps half the speed/volume of gaming mode) while just idling. It did it this morning (and the room i'm in is not warm), but thankfully seems to have settled down.

Is there any way to control the fans better? As i can't believe they need to be so high when just idling.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Have you checked temps? It may be ramping up because of higher temps?

Hi Sypder
I haven't. What's the easiest way? I'm not massively tech proficient.
Thanks
If you download hwmonitor from here:

Thanks. Have done. Here's a screen grab of core temps. They bounce around. but these look pretty high given the laptop is pretty much idling. Any thoughts?

That’s certainly high if it’s idling, dangerously high.

I would log a call with PCS just so it’s noted with them and look at repasting.

Really? Argh, i can't believe it. This is the second time i've had to send a PC back to them, the first they couldn't resolve a problem with the chassis and were awaiting new fireware from the manufacturer. Now this. Thanks for your help Spyder. Can't say i'm too impressed with PC specialist at all.

I second this those temperatures are silly for a system that is just idling. Send it straight back.

Thank you Barlew. I've had it over a couple of months now. It didn't start this until a few weeks ago. I've just contacted the complaints team as they were my last contact in actually buying this machine - as i mentioned before the other first one i had from them the mic cut out when you plugged in speakers. They found it was happening on all of that chassis, so i bought a higher spec. Now this.

I feel your disappointment, but stuff happens. It could be a bad CPU, it could be a heatpipe problem, it could be a heat exchanger problem. Equally it could have been pasted badly, or assembled poorly. It happens, even to the best.

The reason most of buy from PCS is because you know that your problem will get sorted and as fast as they are able. That kind of service doesn't come with many PCs and laptops...

Thanks Ubuysa. I sincerely hope that PCS does resolve this for me quickly and completely. Last time they were very good, (once i got passed the front line, who were quite stubborn about it being a software issue and thus not their problem).
