Are you able to start in safe mode? If you can go into safemode, then bring up a cmd prompt and do a chkdsk on your drive.

Safe mode -> Tap F8 on startup
Cmd -> Start menu - Type cmd right click and run as admin
In Cmd box type chkdsk /r /f and press enter
Press Y for Yes

All BSOD have an error code

BSOD_Main.png

See where it says;

"Technical Information

**** STOP: "

well that first set of numbers before the ones in brackets is your error code (including the 0x at the beggining)

Can you boot into safemode?? Does it allow you to work in safemode. If so I would try driver verifier.

First
Go to control panel-system-advanced system settings-Advanced tab-Startup and recovery settings.
In there make sure Write an event to system log is checked and restart system is unchecked.
Also add the path under dump file: C:\Users\NAME\Desktop\Dump file (where NAME is your computer user name and dumpfile will be a newly created folder on desktop)
Restart
If crashes restart again but in safe mode.

Second
Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. IE if playing a game crashes it, load up the game a few times to allow it crash. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 5 hours of continuous operation.

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and doint the second step again selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page. Locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post. (should now be in new folder created on your desktop dump file folder)

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

You can then go back into advanced system settings as in step one, and delete the dump file path you entered to restore default.

If you can not even enter safemode your prob best option is to format and reinstall everything.

I got the picture (had to edit the url as you had http and https in there) however it is VERY small, I was right in that you gave a memory address instead of the actual code.

Here is the actual image.

To me it looks like 0x000000ED.

This is HDD problems, some people have managed to fix it by using HDD Diagnostic CD's, some people have just had to scrap the HDD. If you have any HDD cd's I suggest trying them first, if that fails I would suggest taking it out and trying it in another computer to see if you can recover data, if that fails I would try reformatting it, if that fails its time to let go of a (not so) old friend and think about investing in another one.

If it comes down to losing data that you really cant afford to lose then even if the HDD isn't spinning up anymore there is a possibility data can be recovered by specialists however they are costly.

Hope this helps! Keep us in the loop.
