Hi all,

I am looking to get the best gaming PC I can - budget £1400(ish)

I don't need peripherals and its hooked up to my TV as is also used as the families entertainment system.

I would prefer to stick with Nvidia.

Heya! Do you know the resolution and refresh rate of the TV? Unless it's a super high end TV, it'll likely have a 60hz refresh which makes for a poor gaming experience compared to mordern standards. Something like a 1080p 144hz monitor would be ideal for a budget like this

This is what I could find on that info. Replacing the TV is not an option as its not really that old.

As I suspected! It looks to be 4K 60hz which means you'd really want a minimum of a 3060TI (with a 70 being the ideal choice) which really brings you out of your budget. With the bare minimum I'd recommend you can get to a smidge under £1500 but I wouldn't cutting many more corners than that. You could go for an Intel 11400F which would just about bring it into budget but I know that's a move a lot here would advise against

Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE Solid budget airflow case
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) Solid gaming CPU from AMD
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! Good mid-tier board to pair with the 5600X
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) 16GB is the standard for gaming these days, AMD likes fast RAM and 3200mhz is the sweetspot for what PCS offers
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR The card I'd recommend for 4K 60hz
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW) The first shortcomming- You'd ideally want 2 drives in a system, one for WIndows and apps then one for games. Having a single drive is fine and adding a 2nd drive is pretty simple these days, it's just always a good precaution to have 2 for the safety of your data
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET The second shortcomming- this is probably the big one. A 750W will run this PC just fine, but won't leave much room for upgradability which is something we generally like to factor in to extend the life of a PC- 850W would have been ideal here
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
STANDARD AMD CPU COOLER Will be fine for the 5600X
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS
Operating System

This is great, thank you.

Could I be a pain and ask you to post what you would recommend if my budget wasn't so low. Don't go mad for all top end stuff but if i was able to increase my budget by a few hundred would that make much difference?

TIA

Godlike
Added some extras onto @JUNI0R's build, mainly bumping up the components he noted in his spec.

Case
COOLERMASTER MASTERBOX TD500 MESH ARGB GAMING CASE Slightly better case than the 215, although the 215 does incredibly well at its price point
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready!
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3070 - HDMI, DP, LHR Ideal card for 4k 60hz gaming, although the 3060ti isn't far behind at all.
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W) A few extra drives here, with this superfast drive for Windows and programs. HDD for general storage like photos and music.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET The RMx is a slightly better line of PSUs than the TXm so the cooler will run cooler and quieter. The extra wattage gives a little more room for a GPU upgrade down the line.
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler Black Edition For purely gaming the stock cooler will do the job, but if you want a minor upgrade this where you'll want to be. There are better coolers available but they're overkill for the 5600x and are arguably more for aesthetics.
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
