Hi. o/ Is it possible to upgrade laptops after purchase?

I guess the thread title says it all. ;)

I'm looking for a high end laptop but can't really afford the spec that I'd like right now.

I know that warranties would be voided by messing about inside a laptop, but any upgrades that I fit would likely be after the expiry of the warranty anyway. It's more fiddly to work with a laptop than a desktop, but I've tweaked laptops in the past with success.

I'm looking for confirmation that it's possible to upgrade a laptop after purchase. Like increasing the amount of RAM, swapping the grahics card or cpu, installing a second hard drive, etc. It seems reasonable to assume that when the laptop is bought it should be possible to upgrade it to any specification supported by that chassis.

Does pcspecialist supply parts that could be used for upgrades or is it possible to source the parts elsewhere? I couldn't find any section of the site that offers this service. Forgive my ignorance, but are the parts used by pcspecialist standard components or would they need to be specially ordered? I noticed the thread about spare parts, so some components are obviously available. Is this service available for "spare parts" that were not originally specified on a purchase?

Thanks for reading. :)

You can upgrade anything yourself inside the Laptop, but warranty will be void if the changes cause something to break :p

Or you could just send it back to PCS, and i believe they will do the upgrades for you, obviously you'd have to pay :p But it'd be better for your warranty if you sent it to them :)
