Horrible Intel Advanced-N 6235 wifi connectivity.

Intel 6235 + Windows 8 or 8.1 is a complete nightmare. Never ever again will I buy Intel network/wifi/Bluetooth stuff.

Has anybody found a solution to the constant "limited connectivity" or complete connection drops for this horrible card, other than replacing the whole damn thing? I'm still under warranty so I might actually send this whole laptop back to PCspecialist due to this and several other issues (broken DVD drive and now also broken Firewire port).

I'm thoroughly disappointed in this whole package and it's starting to get on my nerves.

Whilst I tend to agree that Intel wifi cards in particular seem to have problems it's also true that wifi can be very flaky. If you have other devices that can connect ok then place your laptop exactly were they are, that way you can be fairly sure there will be a good signal at that point. You should also keep mobile phones (both landline and cell) away from your laptop and if you have any flourescent lights on nearby then try turning them off. Microwave ovens are also known to interfere badly with wifi.

Just make sure it's not something physical at your location, but I would never buy another Intel wifi card either.

if you get the chance, use a mobile phone wifi analyser tool to see how many wifi networks there are in your area. I vastly improved mine simply by changing the wifi band to anyting other than 1 or 11. There were over 6 wifi networks sharing bandwidth in channel 1 so none of them would have been operating at good capacity.
