How long is normal!!!

This is my first experience of using PC Specialist and I'm becoming concerned that there is a problem with this company. I ordered my new desktop and paid by electronic transfer on 4th September and unfortunately it's still not here; in fact it is still in pre-production.

I have rung several times and now I am wondering if I am being fobbed off and should cancel and request a refund. This is the last thing I want to do, however I am becoming concerned that something is amiss.

Is this NORMAL?

Please can anyone re-assure me about PC Specialist or would you cancel quickly?

Hi.

PC Specialist have been experiencing what appears to be a rather large backlog of orders. I ordered my system on the 1st of September, it was dispatched on the 23rd and arrrived on the 24th in prestine condition, and has been running perfectly since then (there was an issue with the case which prolonged the production). There are many reasons as to why your order may be delayed longer than usual to enter production such as a shortage on a certain part, etc - However I would assume the guys on the phones would inform you of any such delays.

No, I wouldn't be cancelling quickly, that I can assure you. However, I should think a member of staff will drop in on this thread in abit and find out what's going on for you so rest assured :)

We're sorry that there is a delay with your order, we are very busy at the moment and have an increased production time as a result. I can assure you that there is nothing to worry about. A member of our call centre will contact you tomorrow as a courtesy to provide you with an update on your order.

Hey,

As far as I am aware, the delay had been due to stock of the HAF922 Case which is why it was still in Pre-Production as it could not be entered into Building without the case.

The good news though, your order has been built this morning (you will have no doubt recieved an automated email confirming this). Your order will move into the Testing & QC Depts soon which generally take 24 - 48 hours to complete. I would expect delivery to take place early next week if all goes well.

Has your order moved along yet tim?
Just curious, because mine started on 17 September and also still in pre-production.
Another person who ordered a mini pc (like me) after me already had theirs delivered, but I think they paid for fast track...

Yes finally it's now been built and will be delivered soon. I am relieved and excited all at the same time!!

If only someone had keep in touch then I am sure my concern would not have been there. I am a reasonable person who would not have been annoyed at the time delay, I am aware that parts can be out of stock. I would have quite happily changed to another case to speed things up as this is the least important part of the machine to me.

I will report back on whether the wait was worth it, I am sure it will be.

Grats Tim!

I cancelled my PC order after 3 weeks of it being in Pre-Prod because of parts not being received - I was going on holiday for 2 weeks so thought it best. I would like to order my PC again. Is PCS still really busy with a back log of orders? I would rather order later and wait less than order now and wait ages! Perhaps after x-mas?

We are very busy at the moment, but we are working flat out to complete all orders as soon as possible. With the VAT increase coming and August - January being our busiest half of the year, lead times will be a little longer than earlier on in the year.
