How's this look?

Hiya, I've not built a system since the old socket 775 days :p
I need a gaming pc for my son to last him 5 years or so. He mainly plays Roblox, Minecraft, Garry's mod which our current aio pc handles ok. But he also plays farming simulator and train sim world which our current pc struggles with. I realize the spec below is overkill for most of what he does, but I need it to last a while. I will also need a new monitor, with a budget of around £250
Just need someone to look over the spec to see if it would work out ok?

I made a few tweaks, adjusting the storage, upping the PSU and giving you a better WiFi card.

Just noticed there was a 256GB SATA SSD in the build which I didn’t delete. Was there a reason for this?

It wasn't in the original spec either so I'd assume it's a configurator glitch

Monitor wise there's a few options closer to the £300 mark which are really good. The Gigabyte M27Q seems to be a solid option as does the ASUS TUF VG27AQ (currently on sale). Alternatively if you'd rather not spend that much the Samsung G5 is a good budget 1440p monitor

Thanks guys, not sure what happened with that data drive, I didn't add it.
I've only just got my head around ssd's and I'm not really up on m.2.
What was the reason changing the 2tb firecuda?
Also what are the key monitor specs should I be looking for with this system?
Budget is as close to £2000 as possible, excluding the monitor.

I've mentioned a few above for the ~£300 mark. 1440p 144hz are the title specs you'll want to be heading for with the 3060TI. An IPS panel will be great (brigther colours, better contrast ratio), but owning a VA panel I'd happily recommend one too. Feel free to swing a monitor by us if you're curious!

Thanks mate, I'll do a bit of research whilst I wait for the pc to be built. I've placed the order tonight. I did dial the power supply back to 850w as I felt 1000w was over the top. Still a fair bit of headroom in the 850... :)

Awesome! Yeah, 850W vs 1000W is understandable. My thought process behind it is with GPU (and seemingly CPU) power requirements are only going up and for the sake of £20 or so on a 2.5K build, it doesn't seem amiss just to have that extra coverage, especially if it'll save you ~£130 on a new PSU in the long run!

Just additionally to this, the next gen graphics cards will be able to draw 600w from the PSU, that's separate from the PCIe board power.

So 850w may well restrict your upgrade potential for future GPU's if you want the higher tiers.

This reminds me if just a few years ago, people were called crazy for speccing 750W PSU's in their PC's. Who's laughing now! 😂 I'm sure it'll only be a matter of time until this is the case with 1000W units!

I put a 1000W in the Berserker

Exactly, I was called crazy for putting my 750W RMx unit in in 2009 with a Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 which only required 500W, but meant I could upgrade to the GTX 1080 in 2016 with the same PSU.

I've had a look at several monitors and I think I'll probably end up with one of these 2. Any thoughts on which is best? Or too close to worry about?

I'd go for the 1A personally for the HDR performance alone.
