I am looking to consolidate a number of things at the moment and to do this I am investing in a Desktop type box. I was hoping the friendly people on here that know much more than I do on current PC Specs etc would be able to advise on what kind of spec I should be looking at based on my requirements. I am looking to purchase this asap.
Requirements
- Bluray media drive for 3d Bluray
- HDMI output to connect to 1080p TV
- Large hard disk space for film, tv (probably 2x 2TB or a 2TB and a 3TB)
- Excellent running speed
- Wireless connection and ethernet.
- Decent soundcard for movies and music.
- Any extras you guys think of.
Obviously these will impact on the type of processor, RAM, graphics card, and then things like cooling, power supply, etc. I was largely considering a custom build but if there are any recommendations for off the shelf systems then I will look at them too. Was just wondering what everyone else would recommend spec wise for my needs.
Lastly cost is a factor and ideally the cheaper the better but if needs must then I can reach within the £1000-£2000.
