I need a new external drive. Recomendations?

I'd be guessing that the 232GB contained Seagate software/tools and that before you had problems was probably a hidden partition which you wouldn't have seen unless you went into disc manager

I think that's what it was. Anyway. Thankfully no bad sectors anywhere, so hopefully it's all good now.
