Hello,
I'm planning on buying a Gaming PC for streaming, recording and sculpting and modelling, however I have actually no clue on what would be best options.
I have a computer which I have bought last year however whenever I'm trying to record game play of fortnite or of my game design it just slows down by 90% and you can barely stand watching it.

Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz, 3696 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
this is all I know about my computer really, I have been told by my friends who are passionate about computer that this computer was a great choice for what I want it for however obviously it is not because I can't even record a thing

could someone recommend a budget gaming PC ,that would be a great help

Although we can only really give advice about PC Specialist builds (these fora belong to PCS) the commonest cause of early slowdown in a PC (without an SSD) is the hard disk. If your Windows drive is an SSD then ignore this, but if it's a hard drive then the following will spoeed things up quite noticeably...

1. If the drive is more than about 70% full then either delete stuff you no longer need or archive it off onto an external drive. Getting rid of the largest files first makes the biggest difference.

2. Run the Windows Disk Cleanup tool, check all the boxes you see in there. That will remove all the garbage (and there might be a lot).

3. Run the Windows defrag tool on the drive. That will make all files contiguous and that really speeds things up.

If you still think you need a new PC then we can spec up a suitable PCS build for you.

What specific applications will you be using?
What is your maximum budget?
Will you require peripherals (mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc.)?
Do you have a copy of Windows that can be legally transferred to the new PC?

Oh, and welcome to the PCS fora! :)

This computer cost me around £1,500 and I have everything like keyboard and two monitors already but I don't have a copy of Windows.
I have preformed the Disk Cleanup and Defrag but it did not free up much space.

Programs I am currently using for my university projects and personally are
ZBrush , Maya 2018 , Photoshop, Unreal Engine, Substance Painter and 3D Coat

For streaming and recording just standard OBS and Fortnite is the only game on it.

I'm not too sure about a budget really, I guess it all depends, maybe around £2,000 if I have to spend more then I would have to haha

You should be able to stream on an 8700k, as long as you manage the settings reasonably.

There are certainly things that are better for streaming and rendering for that matter that you can buy for that money. But if you spent £1500 on that and it's not that old, do you really want to buy a whole new system again already?

As for recording, modern Nvidia and AMD GPUs can record gameplay with a trivial performance loss. That could be preferable to trying to record via OBS (well, you can get OBS to use the GPU's dedicated hardware for recording, but it's often easier to just use Nvidia Shadowplay or the AMD equivalent)

If you are trying to record high bitrate game footage to an HDD, and especially if you also run other things off the HDD, then you will be quite likely to see a stuttery mess.

I'll post a spec below but tbh you should be able to at least 'get by' on your current one. It's much better for your wallet, and the environment, if you can sort out the issues with your current PC.

Be they sub-optimal settings / configuration, bad software/driver/windows install, or a hardware fault. Can you get some tech support from the company that made it?

While we can't troubleshoot in detail, I would be interested to see the spec. Can you post a screenshot from Speccy? e,g. mine on this laptop:

When I try to Record anything it barely reaches 30fps , I have been playing about with settings in OBS for a while and been watching multiple videos.
