I thought this would be a good website to buy a PC from 'I WAS WRONG'

I love the website, because its so easy to configure a pc to what spec you want it. The issue i had was they would not except me with the finance option because the people in my house hold have a bad credit rating, which it is not there fault why they have a bad credit rating. I can pay £100 a month for 12 months. 'THE REASON WHY I CANT BUY THE PC ON FINANCE IS RIDICULOUS'. I get £327 a month from my benefits. I TAKE £100 A MONTH AND PAY PC SPECIALIST AND HITACHI. WHY CANT I DO THAT.... AND THE REST OF THE MONEY GOES TO MY PARENTS TO COVER MY PART OF THE BILLS>>>>>

You are right, is it not your fault your other household members don't have a good credit rating, however, most finance companies (Hitachi is the one PCSpecialist use I believe) will have similar restrictions and will require a certain credit score just because they want to be as sure as they can that they will be paid back, so it's not just the finance company that PCSpecialist have chosen.

I realise it might take a while :(, but if you start saving that money (or if you have anyone who could help you with it) then you could buy it outright once you have saved the money (in essence that's what I do, I save a certain amount every month, so when I want a new PC I just raid that savings account)

Urm, how old are you? And when you say “benefits” do you mean you’re not working?

Paying on credit has nothing to do with PCS, it’s hitachi capital who do standard credit checks which includes address credits. You can’t get angry at them for not lending you the money, it’s theirs to lend, they don’t owe it to you.

I was declined a mortgage because I default on a bank account because they hammered me with bank charges that caused bank charges back when I was a student for an overdraft of something daft like £10.

Sadly credit is not a right. But considering house prices are priced so high entirely because of the availability of credit and the ability for a bank to make you work for 20 years to pay it off.

Don't get me started on the whole process of money creation and how mortgages underpin the entire economy and the mechanism of how money is created yet are a privately run business where a bank can loan you money it doesn't actually have, charge you interest on said money. This is all based on the assumption that everyone will not try to withdraw their money at the same time, and if everyone ever did try that the government has ensured that it would be illegal for everyone to do so.

So much hate in my soul for the whole system.

I don't really understand a couple of things so have some questions.

1. When is someone's bad credit rating ever not be their own fault?

2. Why would someone else's credit rating affect whether YOU can get credit?

3. Why is PCS not a good website because Hitachi finance won't lend you some of their money?

Sadly credit is not a right and finance companies are entitled not to lend to people they believe may not be a good risk. None of that however is the fault of PCS.

When we come out the eu prices will skyrocket. trying to get a mid range pc for 1080p gaming and work, before we come out the eu. i was going to work at my dads farm but it got burned down 150k of equipment, thats alot of money. i cant go put a word because it would be inappropriate to put on here, (someone made a fire and burned it down) the fire bragade wouldnt put it out for some reason and yeah how much should i put. my dad had trouble with barclay card and he was ill. and not working. he was paying ppi on the barclay card acc and he didnt know that he asked them what was making the bill higher but barclays would not say. the ppi ran the bill up and thats why he has a bad credit rating. and with my mum its a similar thing.

This is all well and good but:

None of us work for PCS so there’s no point offloading financial troubles into us.

Your issue isn’t with PCS, it’s with hitachi capital, but as you’re not working it’s not surprising they won’t give you a loan.

This is just standard credit check stuff. Get an app like ClearScore to see how you can improve yours.

I’m going to lock this thread because the OP is sharing some very personal details which could be used against them on a public forum, plus it’s not a PCS issue.
