Hi guys hope you are all well. I'm about to buy my first PC and I needed some advise from the collection of great minds on this forum!
Should I take the plunge and purchase the new i5 12600k with Z690 mobo, DDR5 or stick with my current spec which I ordered over a month ago but hasn't as yet been built due to the GPU not being in stock (EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 ULTRA).
Current spec:
R7 5800x
2x8G CorsVengRGB PRO DDR4 3600
MSI X570 Tomahawk Wifi Mobo
Ssung 980Pro 1TB M.2 PCIe4
RM750 80PLUS Gold FMod ATX
If I were to change the CPU, ram and mobo, it would cost an additional £160. My question is, would it be better (and cheaper in the long run) to spend the additional £160 to upgrade to next gen tech now?
Just looking at the benchmarks for the i5 12600k, it looks extremely good for the price.
Any advice greatly appreciated
Thanks
