Hello all hope all is well, I have a gaming PC at home which was purchased through the help of these forums but unfortunately due to work I'm not longer at home as much as I would like, so I would like to transition to laptop gaming now

My preference would be ultra settings on every game, one that is going to last atleast 4 to 5 years if not longer with a max budget of around £3000 I don't mind if it's a heavy laptop compared to a thin more sleek I want this to be an absolute beast.

Thanks for any help.

I would suggest the Vortex 15”. It’s a brilliant laptop for gaming, has the best screen at 144hz gsync, plus has thunderbolt 3.

im mobile atm so can’t do a build, but will put something together once home.

That's pretty maxxed out on the Vortex model.

Couple of points.

1/. The 2070 at 1080p 144Hz is going to max it out for quite a while, it's actually overpowered for the screen so will last that bit extra.

2/. Laptop RTX Super cards have just been leaked which give a bit of a boost over current cards. Weather or not it's worth waiting is of course, up to you, but worth mentioning:

3/. Bonus points of this chassis are, thunderbolt 3 port, very handy for fast data transfers, and you could use an external GPU like the Razer Core X to put in your own full size GPU to power it down the line when the dedicated GPU isn't powerful enough anymore:

And the screen is I'd say the best that PCS offer, much better than the Octane's screen, plus it has GSync which will further improve graphics at lower refreshes. I've used my 4k display down to about 35fps on my PC and it still looks amazingly smooth to the point you don't believe it's running so slowly.

Cheers for the reply and the build mate quality info there! What's your personal opinion on the new graphics card think they're worth the wait? With no real release date info other than potentially this month at some point hahha

I think they'll get ANNOUNCED this month, but I don't think they'll be released until probably June time. That's a complete guess though, it's early days yet, this is just a leak. The performance increase chart doesn't really say anything about actual real world performance increase either so it's really a total guessing game.

Question is, how quickly do you need the laptop?

I'll probably be ordering the laptop tomorrow if it's a summer time release I can't wait that long as I'll be away with work again (though your release is a guess it's more probable really) so I think I'll go ahead and order the build you've suggested.

Yeah, I got the impression you needed it quicker.

I wouldn’t be concerned at all, the 2070 at 1080p 144Hz is going to blaze through games for a long time, and the gsync screen will futureproof you further. It’s a win win chassis.

It’s also got some of the best thermals of a clevo chassis which is a bonus I forgot to mention.
