Industry group invalidates 2,600 official Intel CPU benchmarks

SPEC has effectively invalidated more than two thousand SPEC CPU 2017 benchmark submissions after it was discovered the Intel oneAPI DPC++ compiler was effectively "cheating" per their standards with a targeted optimization.

Multiple folks have written in today about a number of SPEC CPU submissions now carrying this compiler notice:

This is more aimed at workstation CPU's up to server grade, but yeah, even though I guess we expect this of Intel, it's incredibly poor show.

I have no idea why anyone buys any of their marketing nonsense anymore, you have to be willfully ignorant to believe a word they say.

if intel are allegedly willing to do this then what else are they up to
