Initia 15.6"

This is my second laptop from PC Specialist, and I must say it didn't disappoint, despite being half the price of my first laptop.

I wanted a laptop mostly for school/home office, not gaming, which is why I went for the Initia.
Even though it's thin and lighweight, it has a sold build and doesn't feel flimsy.
It's very quiet and doesn't run hot.

The screen is great, but certain applications display the text slightly blurred.
Not sure if it has anything to do with the settings; I'm using default settings of 1920 x 1080.

It has a backlit keyboard which is nice for evening work.
And it's a bonus that the keyboard can fit a number pad, which not many 15.6" laptops do.

Because I went for a Samsung 970 Evo PLUS M.2 as my primary OS drive and 16GB of memory, the laptop is flying.
Boot time (Windows 10) is less than 10 seconds and applications open and run with no lag.
I've had 10 tabs open on Firefox, plus a bunch of Microsoft Office documents, and the laptop was not showing any signs of weakness.

As there is no dedicated GPU, you probably won't be able to play high-spec games, but this laptop wasn't intended for gaming.

Overall it's a nice laptop, perfect for office work.
There is no way you can get this type of spec for the price from any online retailers.

Hi - thanks for the review. Nice machine.

re the blurry text - try to check that the display is scaled to 100% not 150%.

Right click your desk top - and select Display Settings - then as below check that it is 100%. Windows has a habit of setting to 150%

If that doesnt work then post in the laptop support forum (https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/forums/laptops-notebook-pcs.12/) a few more details like what apps etc and you can get some advice on what might need changing as it should be pretty clear text (unless its the app itself)
